When I think about wood, I think about Mario Kart. There are so many levels where trees and wood are present, and they make the game much more interesting. The first one I can think of is Luigi’s Mansion in the Mushroom Cup (This is in Mario Kart DS). The trees are alive and walk around the track. If you run into them, it slows you down. In Mario Kart 7, there’s a track called Maple Treeway. The entire track is a huge tree thriving with organisms and bumping into any of them, like a caterpillar, will send a player spiraling back. Though wood is readily seen in our physical world, I thought it would be interesting to describe the digital aspect of it in a video game.
