One thing I thought about after reading about wood was when I look for driftwood. During the summers, with friends and family, I like taking walks near lakes and such and collecting items like beach glass, driftwood, and different rocks and shells. Although beach glass is my all time favorite and I have so many different pieces, I also love driftwood. It is so soft and does not really feel like how you would expect wood to feel. The colors on them can be really pretty sometimes and I love finding small pieces to bring home. I do not have as much as I do with my beach glass but I do have a few pieces from different lakes and beaches.

If you can you should share some pictures of the driftwood you’ve found or bring them in to class! I’d love to see it I didn’t even know driftwood could be pretty like that haha
Sure! I’ll post a photo of some of the rocks and driftwood that I have.
