Traveling for philosophy

I love to travel and see new places but I also enjoy revisiting sites.  For this post I wanted to share some images of my summer trips to Oxford England.  I lead two conferences held at Mansfield College for the Interdisciplinary-Net organization.  For a couple of years I have coordinated conferences on the nature of Childhood and on Play.  Last summer I co-led a conference on the Animal/Human Bond.  Scholars from many different disciplines and parts of the globe travel to present their research and activities with regard to the conference’s themes.  Here I share some images with all of you of Oxford.

I hope to lead an SJC course to Oxford in the summer 2015 term, co-taught with a professor from history.  In this course we will explore Oxford as Text: how a city has “lived” with ideas, creative events, and tragedies for thousands of years.  Consider taking our course and coming with us to study in Oxford next year!
