Baby Bear

Some of my friends and I rented out a cabin house in upstate New York this summer, and there was a baby bear next to our cars one morning. I really wanted to play with the baby bear and give him food because he seemed hungry, but the girls were screaming at me not to. Honestly that was very mean because all the bear wanted to do was play, eat, and sleep. I know that cause that’s all I want to do all the time. I attached the video below if anyone wants to see the “beast”.

Fire

I thought it was really interesting how fire was stolen from the gods. It makes me believe that we were possibly given this element by accident, especially considering how dangerous it can be when not controlled. Such as when you’re making a camp fire, and put too much lighter fluid in and the flame becomes humongous. It’s a beautiful sight, but for a brief moment catches you by surprise and makes you back up from the immense heat wave that just hit your body.

Space

After reading the section about space, I was again reminded of the sheer size of space. It is about 93 billion light-years in diameter and contains about 100 billion galaxies. Knowing this makes the Earth look and seem super small. For me, it can get easy to get lost in an existential crisis when reminded about these facts. But this section shredded some more positive light on space. In class, I saw some really pretty pictures of space, which I found really interesting. Here are some pictures of space I thought were really pretty and intriguing!

This is the Milky way- the galaxy the Earth is in!

This is a cloud of gas and dust left behind after a star exploded, which is called a nebula. This one, in particular, is called the Bubble Nebula, and is located 8,000 light-years away from Earth!
